Central Luzon’s Cantor Achieves New Palaro Long Jump Record

CEBU CITY, Philippines — On Thursday, July 11, 2024, in the Cebu City Sports Center, Jyane Kurt Cantor won the gold medal for Central Luzon (Region 3) and set a new Palarong Pambansa record in the long jump for elementary boys with a leap of 6.14 meters.

Cantor beat the old long jump record of 6.04 meters established by Jeremie Tamles of Davao Region during the 2002 Palarong Pambansa in Naga. Cantor is a crossover athlete from the triple jump.

With a jump of 5.63 meters, Western Visayas (Region 6)’s Khrispher Kyle Ngirngir came in second and won the silver medal. With a distance of 5.59 meters, Ace Francis Bacongallo of Central Visayas (Region 7) won the bronze medal.
