The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) constructed the new bridge and its approaches, which connect the barangays of Sicsican, Irawan, and Iwahig along the Puerto Princesa South Road in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The current access points to the area have been experiencing problems for a long time, and this project aims to address them by relocating and improving them. This will make the road safer and easier for people who drive and take the bus.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. promised to make infrastructure better so that growth can be fair. This project is in line with that promise. It is an important link that makes it easier for people to get around and do business in the city and the surrounding area.
The DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director, Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, got a report from District Engineer Amelia B. Fajardo. It said that the project covers 0.799 kilometers across different barangay clusters. There is a lot of work to do on the bridge, the soil, the subbase and base course levels, and the surface courses. The infrastructure was also improved with extra features like drainage systems and structures to protect slopes. This made it last longer and safer.

The new project makes the bridge approaches more stable and easier to use. This helps traffic move more smoothly, reduces wear and tear on cars, and speeds up travel time. Better drainage and slope protection also help keep the building safe from bad weather and make the load more evenly spread out.

Because of this better connection, people who live there, cars, and local businesses should all be able to get around more quickly, safely, and efficiently. Puerto Princesa City and the province of Palawan will do better if people have more ways to make money.
