Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), Sanlakas, and APMDD urge the Philippine government to champion a pro-people tax agenda at the United Nations during a protest at the Department of Finance on Roxas Blvd., Manila on Tuesday morning, July 21.

Carrying calls for wealth tax and taxing extractives, the groups said the Philippines must uphold the mandate of the UN Tax Convention’s Terms of Reference it voted for in 2023 — for an inclusive, fair, transparent, and equitable international tax system that serves sustainable development, not the interests of the wealthiest nations.
