Bea Alonzo and Vincent Co Signed Prenup Willingly, Says Lawyer

Actress Bea Alonzo and businessman Vincent Co, who consented to signing a prenuptial agreement on their own, a lawyer who handled it said. The lawyer dismissed rumours that the couple had fought over the document.

Alonzo and Co were wed in a short ceremony on Monday night, July 13, in the office of Makati Mayor Nancy Binay. The next day, the mayor verified that she had officiated the wedding. Only four of the couple’s pals were there to witness it. Not even their own parents came.

Co is a member of the family of retail company Puregold.

The issue was raised by lawyer Joey V. Garcia in an interview on GMA’s news show State of the Nation Tuesday night. He said the couple signed the prenup without any issues or disagreements.

Garcia also addressed prior rumours that Alonzo and Co had a falling out over the prenup, which was why their original wedding plans were scrapped. He maintained the claims were not true.

“The prenup agreement was signed properly and freely by both Alonzo and Co, there were no issues at all between them,” Garcia stated in his statement to GMA.

Those plans did not push through to have a grandiose wedding in Spain last May 14. Neither Alonzo nor Co has talked publicly about their actual wedding day or the events surrounding it as of this article.
