Senator Imee Marcos said the black-themed advertisement was the idea of Vice President Sara Duterte.
She explained that the ad, which shows her with VP Sara, was meant to highlight that the current government is going in the wrong direction, and people should fight for what is right.
Marcos said the ad was made suddenly when VP Sara returned to the country from The Hague.
“She (VP Sara) said she was not in the mood and felt sad, like many people. I asked how we could show that in a political ad since it might seem depressing. We even forgot there was a campaign going on… She was the one who insisted on using black. Black means ‘Fight for what is right, correct what is wrong,’” Marcos said.
Marcos added that with what’s happening now, dancing and motorcades are no longer suitable.
When asked if VP Sara’s support would help her campaign and chances of winning, Marcos did not give a clear answer.
