On the fourth rescue mission, the Philippine government brought home 343 Filipinos from the Middle East. This included 317 workers and 26 family members from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. They landed at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City early in the morning.
President Marcos was present to welcome them. Each returnee received financial support, medical assistance, and counseling from the government.
Many Filipinos initially had to travel by land to Saudi Arabia due to the closure of several airports in the Middle East. The journey took seven to eight hours. After that, they took a plane to Manila.
Government agencies such as OWWA and the Department of Migrant Workers provided food, shelter, and transportation for the returning workers.
Additionally, Marcos bid farewell to employees traveling to the Visayas and Mindanao, with buses prepared to transport them to their lodgings as they awaited their subsequent flights.
With two more flights from the United Arab Emirates, the government intends to bring home around 1,200 more Filipinos in the near future.
As of March 23, there had been 1,262 requests from Filipinos to return home. So far, 613 have received assistance, while 649 are still awaiting help.
A total of 1,763 Filipino workers and their families have already safely returned to the Philippines.
