Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced early that he will not run for any government position in the 2028 elections.
This is his third and final term as the mayor of Pasig.
During his oath-taking as re-elected mayor on Monday, June 30, Sotto shared something he did not say during the 2025 campaign.
“In 2028, I will not run. I’m telling you this now. That’s why I can freely do what I believe is right. You can’t say it’s because of politics,” Sotto said in his speech.
In the same speech, the mayor also thanked the people of Pasig.
Mayor Sotto was joined at the oath-taking by his father, Vic Sotto, and mother, Coney Reyes.
