The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed a significant road improvement project in Barangay Inagawan along Puerto Princesa South Road, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. This project addresses safety concerns on a previously accident-prone section of the road known for its steep and obstructed sight distances.
Palawan 3rd District Engineer Amelia B. Fajardo reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, that the project involved the construction of a 401-meter road. The improvements included embankment from roadway excavation, aggregate subbase course, Portland cement concrete pavement, and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings. These enhancements aim to mitigate potential hazards and ensure smoother traffic flow.
By leveling the rising and falling slopes that obstruct motorists’ vision, the project significantly reduces the risk of accidents. The improved sight distance and smoother road surface contribute to safer driving conditions, enhancing overall safety along Puerto Princesa South Road. This initiative reflects the DPWH’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting road safety in Puerto Princesa City. The newly completed road section not only addresses previous safety concerns but also ensures a safer and more efficient travel experience for motorists in the area.
