Pag-IBIG Fund released a record P77.33 billion in home loans between January and August of 2024, representing an increase of P383 million over the P76.94 billion issued during the same period the previous year.
Jose Rizalino Acuzar, Secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and head of the Pag-IBIG Board of Trustees, declared that this is the largest amount of home loan distributions in the organization’s history.
“The consistent increase in home loan releases from Pag-IBIG Fund shows that more Filipino workers are achieving their dream of homeownership,” Acuzar said. “This development aligns with the government’s objective to address the housing shortage and improve the quality of life for the Filipino people.”
He added that the P77.33 billion in home loans allowed 54,063 Pag-IBIG members to either purchase new homes or improve their existing ones.
Marilene Acosta, Chief Executive Officer of Pag-IBIG Fund, credited the organization’s growth to the reliability and affordability of its home lending programs. She emphasized that Pag-IBIG Fund remains a trusted partner for Filipino workers, helping them achieve homeownership through accessible financing options.
“We are deeply grateful to our members for their continuous support of our programs. Their prompt and consistent loan repayments have contributed to strong collections and a high-performing loan portfolio,” Acosta said.
“For those considering buying a home, now is the best time to apply for a Pag-IBIG housing loan. Interest rates remain low, and our loan terms are still affordable and favorable for borrowers,” she added.
