The “Guts” World Tour stop in Manila inspired Filipino-American pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo to make a significant donation. She announced that all the concert’s earnings would benefit Jhpiego Philippines, a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and girls in underserved and conflict-affected areas of the Philippines.
Olivia expressed her excitement about the donation in an Instagram story posted on Sunday. “I’m so happy that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to @jhpiego through my Fund 4 Good.” She also mentioned that during her time in Manila, she visited Jhpiego’s headquarters and was deeply impressed by the organization’s efforts to provide healthcare to Filipino women and girls.
She added, “To say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita.” Olivia described the experience as unforgettable, calling her Manila concert “the most special show” and “the most meaningful trip.”
Performing in the Philippines had long been a dream for Olivia, and she was thrilled to finally make it happen. “I’ve been dreaming of this show for a while,” she said. “My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!”
Olivia also expressed her gratitude to American Express for making the event possible and to her fans in Manila for their warm welcome.
