LEYTE Division Superintendent Dr. Mariza Magan rallied the Roaring Lions athletic team to reclaim the championship title in the 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Evraa) Meet, which began its final leg in Tacloban City on Wednesday, March 5.

“As you embark on the final leg, remember that you are not just representing your division but also your families, schools, and communities. Let the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie guide you,” said Magan.
“Give it your all, leave everything on the field, and make us proud! Go for gold and reclaim the championship title. May you return home victorious and proud,” she added.
As Magan wished the Leyte athletes the “best of luck,” she also offered prayers for their success.

On March 5 alone, Magan personally oversaw the monitoring and preparation of the Roaring Lions delegation to ensure their safety and convenience at their billeting area in Kapangian Central School in Tacloban.

During her meet-and-greet with the Leyte athletes and coaches, she was also accompanied by Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Atty. Calick D. Arrieta and Teodorico C. Peliño Jr., School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Gil R. Esplanada, and other top division officials.
Magan also acknowledged the support of Leyte Governor Jericho Petilla and other local officials.
As of March 6, Leyte had garnered a total of 49 medals — 14 gold, 17 silver, and 18 bronze. (Leyte Light)
