Before the Senate Impeachment Trial starts, House prosecutors want to get Vice President Sara Duterte’s bank records. Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua said this is part of their plan to strengthen their case.
Chua explained, “The impeachment process lets us collect evidence, including bank records, through the Senate court. The Bank Secrecy Law allows this for impeachment cases, and we will use all legal ways to get the needed documents.”
Duterte’s bank accounts, including one shared with former President Rodrigo Duterte, have been under investigation. Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV claimed these accounts had large deposits. These accounts were also discussed by the House Quad Committee.
