House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez on Friday, February 7, 2025, lauded Tingog Party-list members and supporters for showing what genuine public service is.
“Tingog is no longer just an idea. It is a movement that has changed lives. From Leyte to every corner of the region and across the country, we have built something that truly matters. We have reached communities that needed us most,” Romualdez said in his message during the Tingog National Summit 2025 at the Leyte Academic Center in Palo, Leyte.
In a statement to the media, Romualdez, who leads the 306-strong House of Representatives said the party-list group that “started as a dream – a vision to give a voice to those who have long been unheard” has gone a long way from its humble beginning.
He commended the more than 500 participants in the Tingog summit comprised of members and volunteers from the Leyte-Samar region and other parts of the country for the realization of their dream.
“Standing here today, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and pride. Tingog started as a dream,” he said.
He noted that the organization has “brought medical missions, scholarships, livelihood programs, and disaster relief to families who thought they had been forgotten.”
“We have shown what real, genuine public service looks like,” Romualdez added.
He maintained that the formation of Tingog was not about politics but about serving the people.
“This was never about politics. This was always about people. About you. About every volunteer, every supporter, every ordinary Filipino who believes that we can make things better. And together, we did,” he said.
Tingog is represented in the 19th Congress by Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre.
Founded in 2012 as Tingog Leytehon in Leyte, the party has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its reach from its regional roots in Eastern Visayas to become a national force.
