More than a thousand workers will be employed by four Japanese firms that operate in the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) economic zone, which is under Lopez’s administration and is located in Tanauan, Batangas, and Santo Tomas.
At least 1,430 job openings are available across four of FPIP’s locator companies: Brother Industries (Philippines) Inc., Canon Business Machines (Philippines), Inc., Ibiden (Philippines), Inc., and Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc. John Carlo Navalta, the manager of external relations for FPIP, made the announcement on Friday.
According to Navalta, there are openings for engineers, accountants, nurses, human resource staff, and other office-based positions in the new roles.
According to Navalta, 457 job applicants—the majority of whom are young or recent graduates—passed the first round of screening and will move on to the next round of assessments, which will include interviews.
Job seekers can still apply for about 1,000 positions, he continued. Sumitomo and First Philippine Holdings, a local corporation, are partners in the 520-hectare ecozone, which was established in 1996.
The park currently employs close to 70,000 Filipinos, according to the FPIP management.
