Miley Cyrus is going back to her roots. The popular singer will appear in a special show called the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.” It will be available to watch on Disney+ starting March 24 — the same day the original show first aired back in 2006.
The special will be filmed in front of a live audience. It will also include a long interview with Miley, hosted by Alex Cooper, known for her podcast “Call Her Daddy.” They will talk about how Hannah Montana was made and why it still matters to fans around the world.
Miley will also look back at her favorite memories from the show. Viewers can expect old footage that has never been seen before, recreated set pieces, and possibly live performances of some fan-favorite songs.
Hannah Montana ran for four seasons and ended in 2011. During that time, it was nominated for a top children’s TV award four years in a row. The show also led to albums, two movies, and a concert film. On Disney+, people have watched Hannah Montana content for over 500 million hours in total.
Miley said the show will always be a big part of her life. She added that seeing fans still love it after 20 years makes her very proud. She called the special her “Hannahversary” — her way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported her over the years.
