MANDAUE CITY, CEBU — A video circulating online has captured a tense altercation involving two traffic enforcers and a man, who allegedly assaulted a woman and one of the responding enforcers.
According to a report from GMA Regional TV, which was also featured in Unang Balita on Tuesday, the incident occurred in Mandaue City, Cebu. The footage shows two traffic enforcers attempting to restrain a man who was seated and appearing to resist their efforts.
As the situation escalated, one of the enforcers was seen striking the man, seemingly in response to his resistance.
Prior to the altercation, the man had allegedly punched a woman in the stomach while she was waiting for public transportation. He also reportedly struck one of the traffic enforcers who arrived to respond to the incident.
City traffic enforcement authorities suggested that the assault on the woman might have been unprovoked.
The suspect is now in police custody and is set to face appropriate charges. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
