Tanauan, Julita, and Alangalang Emerge Victorious on Lolita Cup Season 2 Day 6

The Lolita Cup Season Basketball Tournament continued its exciting run on Day 6, June 9, 2024, at the Salugnon Gymnasium in Jaro, Leyte. The day’s action saw several close and hard-fought matchups, with Tanauan, Julita, and Alangalang emerging as the winners.

In the first game, the reigning champions San Miguel faced off against the up-and-coming squad from Tanauan. Despite the Knights of San Miguel’s best efforts, the Better and Brighter Tanauan team proved victorious with a final score of 75-65. Tanauan shooter Mel Ivan Parungao had an impressive performance, scoring 21 points even while dealing with an injury late in the game.

The second match of the day saw the Hulatan Hoopers of Julita take on the Tunga Rapids. Julita dominated the game, securing their first victory of the tournament with a final score of 123-106. James Peleño was the standout player for Julita, scoring an impressive 34 points to lead his team to success.

In the final game of the night, the Alangalang Golden Bell Warriors took on the Enchanting Palo squad. Alangalang steadily pulled away, claiming their first win of the season with an 86-62 victory. Mark Joseph Barrantes was the star for the Golden Bell Warriors, pouring in 27 points to power his team to the win.

The Lolita Cup Season 2 is shaping up to be an intense and closely contested tournament.
