Senator Bam Aquino has confirmed that he and Senator Kiko Pangilinan are thinking about joining the Senate majority group.
This comes after Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada said it’s possible that both Pangilinan and Aquino will be part of the majority bloc.
During a radio show called “Good Times Radio” on Monday, July 14, Aquino shared the reason behind this plan.
“We are thinking of joining the majority group mainly because of the committee positions. For example, I’ve been talking about the education committee for a long time, and Senator Kiko is interested in the agriculture committee,” Aquino said.
He also added, “These important committees are usually only given to senators in the majority group. But people are confused because some committees go to the majority, and others are given to the minority.”
Earlier, Senator Pangilinan also spoke about the issue, but did not give a clear answer. He said that he will continue to stand by the promises he made when he was elected to the Senate.
