Sara Duterte, the vice president, is the most popular candidate to be president in 2028, according to a poll done in the first quarter of 2024 by Oculum Research and Analytics.
Forty-two percent of the 3,000 respondents in the country who were 18 years of age or older and randomly selected supported Duterte. advantage researcher at Oculum Research, Dr. Racidon Bernarte, observed that Duterte had a commanding advantage, more over twice as many as Senator Raffy Tulfo, who came in second with 17%.
Former Vice President Ma. Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo secured third place with 10% in the face-to-face national survey conducted from February 10 to 29, 2024.
The survey also showed a statistical tie among former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Senator Imee Marcos, and former Senator Manny Pacquiao, who ranked from fourth to sixth place.
Senator Robin Padilla ranked seventh with 2%, while Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez placed eighth with 0.4%.
The survey aimed for regional representation, with participants from the National Capital Region (335 respondents), Northern and Central Luzon (645 respondents), Southern Luzon (690 respondents), the Visayas (615 respondents), and Mindanao (715 respondents).
With a margin of error of +- 2 percentage points and a high confidence level of 97%, the survey provides insights into the public’s preferences for the 2028 presidential race.
