Despite several reports, including one from Vice President Sara Duterte, indicating that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy may have left Davao City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) remains certain that he is still inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound.
According to PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, signals from their equipment and information from informants suggest that people are present in an underground facility within the compound. “Our search is about 50 percent complete, but delays have been caused by KOJC’s continued blocking of gates and buildings,” she stated.
Fajardo addressed concerns about the use of force in Quiboloy’s arrest, emphasizing that the PNP is operating in compliance with Rule 113, Section 11 of the Rules of Court, which authorizes officers to enter buildings if they have reason to believe the person they are searching for is inside.
Quiboloy’s safety has been assured by PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, according to Fajardo, who dismissed claims that Quiboloy’s life would be in jeopardy if he surrendered. She reminded KOJC supporters of the serious charges against Quiboloy and encouraged them to respect the law.
To expedite the process, Fajardo requested cooperation from KOJC leaders. She affirmed that the PNP would continue searching the KOJC premises thoroughly until the task is completed.
