The K-pop boy band Monsta X, which is well-known for their powerful image and heavy sound, released a new extended play (EP) on Monday to commemorate their tenth anniversary of debut.

The six-song album The X reflects on their past while looking to the future. The ten-year journey is represented by the Roman numeral. “This album is the result of our heartfelt efforts to demonstrate that Monsta X will continue to thrive.” In a press statement, Joohoney said, “I think a lot of people will find it both refreshing and powerful.”
Hyungwon, who recently completed his mandatory military service in May, claimed to have put a lot of effort into the project. “This album represents our 10-year journey and hints at what’s to come,” he said, adding that it would be a meaningful gift for our fans.

The title single, N the Front, reflects Monsta X’s current emotions and their resolve to take the lead rather than follow. The group’s distinctively strong attitude is showcased in the song’s demanding lyrics and vocals, powerful bass, and explosive drumming.
Leader Shownu said, “We’re excited and curious to see how people react because we tried a lot of new things this time.”
The EP also features the hip-hop-heavy song “Do What I Want,” which was released on August 18.
Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. formed Monsta X in 2015 under the banner of Starship Entertainment. Among their many hits are “Shoot Out,” “Alligator,” “Love Killa,” “Gambler,” and “Beautiful Liar.” Because of their strong, macho presence in the K-pop scene, the group is frequently referred to as “beast idols.”
