Marcos Warns Against Road Rage

Because of the recent road rage incidents in the country, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is asking all drivers to behave properly on the road and not act recklessly.

In his vlog, President Marcos said he noticed that the behavior of many Filipinos while driving has changed. He said people now act like bullies on the streets — shouting, arguing, spitting, scaring others, and sometimes even ending in shootings and death.

He said he wonders where drivers get such courage to fight. For him, it seems that confrontation and violence have become normal, and that should not be the case.

“Everyone is acting tough. Why are we becoming like this on the road? Where did this culture come from? Why does it feel normal to fight and hurt each other like this?” Marcos asked.

The President reminded everyone to follow traffic rules and be responsible drivers. He said drivers should not act like “kamote” (a slang word for careless or reckless drivers), as there are already too many like that on the road.

He also explained that a driver’s license is a privilege, not a right. So aside from knowing how to drive, people should also show good manners and be patient.

President Marcos also advised bystanders to stop fights instead of recording them on video. He said people should help keep the peace in their surroundings.

He reminded everyone to be careful with their words, stay calm, and choose peace. Even though traffic can be very frustrating, problems can still be solved by talking nicely and respectfully.

The President added that it’s better to just let things go. If someone cuts you off, it’s okay to let them pass. Giving up a few minutes of your time won’t hurt, but fighting might. In the end, it’s your family who will suffer if something bad happens.
