Marcos Says: Let’s Forget Politics for Now

After the recent senatorial elections where only six candidates from the administration won, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that it is time to set politics aside.

The President attended a thanksgiving party of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas the other night at their headquarters in Mandaluyong City.

Marcos said they hoped more candidates from their group would win, but it is now time to focus on more important matters.

“We all hoped for better results, but we can try again next time. For now, let’s put politics aside,” President Marcos said.

He also listed important issues that should be talked about. He admitted that he is counting the days left in his term to finish what he started.

“It’s time to talk about real issues like development, healthcare, education, agriculture, and food supply — not politics. I keep counting the days left in my term because we must finish what we started,” Marcos added.

President Marcos also thanked the media for covering the campaign. He encouraged them to help inform the people about the government’s work.

“Let’s show the people that we are working hard. As I said, let’s treat politics as a distraction for now and focus on building the nation,” he said.

Out of the twelve candidates from the Alyansa, the six who won were reelectionist Senators Pia Cayetano and Lito Lapid, and senators-elect Erwin Tulfo, Panfilo Lacson, Vicente Sotto III, and Camille Villar.
