Lady Spikers Determined for Strong Comeback in Upcoming Season

La Salle’s Lady Spikers are gearing up for a comeback after their recent setback in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.

Despite their loss over the weekend that ended their title defense bid, the team is resolute about bouncing back stronger in the next season. Reigning MVP Angel Canino expressed the team’s determination, stating, “Of course, it’s sad what happened, but we won’t stop here. It will serve as motivation for all of us. This loss, this season, will be our motivation.”

Facing an unusual twice-to-win challenge as the third-seeded team, La Salle succumbed to a defeat in the UAAP Season 86 Final Four, signaling an early exit from contention. Santo Tomas capitalized on their win-once advantage, ending a five-year finals drought.

The upcoming finals will feature UST against either No. 1 National U or No. 4 Far Eastern U, marking the first finals in 16 years without La Salle or Ateneo. Despite the disappointment, La Salle’s deputy mentor Noel Orcullo acknowledged the team’s efforts and is optimistic about their chances next season.
