For the next Paris Olympics, Korean singer Jin of the well-known boy band BTS will take part as an Olympic torchbearer. Jin is getting ready to head to France to carry the Olympic torch, according to claims from two Korean media outlets, one of which cited insiders in the music industry. Since coming from Greece last month, the torch has been traveling around France’s cities and regions.
Other noteworthy torchbearers include actress Halle Berry, basketball player Tony Parker, and football great Didier Drogba. However, the precise date and place of Jin’s portion of the relay are still unknown.
Jin’s first major public appearance since his mandated 18-month military duty ended on June 12 comes in this role. With J-Hope scheduled to finish in October, he is the first member of BTS to have served their whole term. By the middle of 2025, the remaining members—Suga, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, and V—are expected to be discharged.
One day following his release, Jin gave away free hugs to lucky fans at an exclusive ARMY event honoring BTS’s eleventh anniversary.
Twenty athletes from the Philippines will compete in 32 sports among the more than 15,000 competitors competing in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
