At the 2024 Mister Supranational competition in Poland on July 4 (July 5 in Manila), Filipino competitor Brandon Espiritu secured third place overall, the highest placement for the Philippines.
At the grand finale, which took place at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Espiritu—the current Mister Pilipinas Worldwide titleholder—was voted second runner-up.
Filipino delegates have regularly advanced to the semifinals of the male pageant since it started in 2016 but have never placed higher than the Top 20. Espiritu defied this pattern by placing among the top 5 in the competition for 2024.
Actor and doctor Fezile Mkhize of South Africa took home the top prize, replacing Spanish champion Ivan Alvarez from the previous year. Mkhize defeated 35 other competitors to win Mister Supranational, making history as the first African and Black champion.
Second place went to Casey De Vries of the Netherlands, and fourth place went to Marcos De Freita of Venezuela. Fourth runner-up Sanonh Maniphonh of Laos completed the Top 5. Notably, Asia was the only region to have more than one representative in the championship round.
At the same location on July 6 (July 7 in Manila), the coronation show for Miss Supranational, the equivalent female contest, will take place. After the country’s 2013 victory over Mutya Johanna Datul, Alethea Ambrosio hopes to bring home the Philippines’ second international victory.
