Labor leader and senatorial candidate Atty. Luke Espiritu thanked the more than 6 million people who voted for him in the 2025 midterm elections. He said this number is almost double the votes he got in 2022.
Espiritu shared his message on Facebook on Tuesday, May 13, after partial and unofficial results showed he got over 6.4 million votes in the Senate race held on Monday, May 12.
“Thank you to everyone who supported and campaigned for me—Team Luke, volunteers, PLM and partner groups, the youth, and families. From over 3 million in 2022, it became over 6 million in 2025—almost double,” Espiritu said.
According to the latest count as of 1:57 PM, with 97.23% of the votes counted, Espiritu is in 29th place with 6,401,166 votes.
He also said that his growing number of supporters shows a strong movement against political dynasties.
“This is a strong force against dynasties. They should be worried. The fight continues!” said Espiritu.
Espiritu first ran for senator in the 2022 national elections under the team of former presidential candidate and labor leader Ka Leody de Guzman.
