Mariah Carey is ringing in the holiday season with a new fashion project and a peek at how she celebrates Christmas. The singer of the holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” will be the face of Gucci’s 2026 holiday campaign. The campaign mixes festive fashion, music and the singer’s love of the season.
Carey was in New York City for a Gucci event, kicking off the company’s holiday festivities. The guests were given Gucci gifts, and a choir sang some of Carey’s Christmas songs. The campaign video also has the singer arriving at a holiday party in Gucci ensembles, with her iconic Christmas song adding to the festive spirit.

In conversation with Vogue, Carey divulged details of the campaign and her holiday habits. “I had a good time filming it,” she said, pointing to a dog on set as a favorite part. She also shared why Christmas has always been special to her. She said the season brings a kind of excitement that is hard to put into words.
In Carey’s house there are no early Christmas mornings. “I’m not a morning person,” she said, “so we usually open presents in the middle of the afternoon. Another one of their traditions is to go see Santa every year, go on a sleigh ride and drink hot chocolate together.
Carey also likes to cook during the holidays. One of her favorite dishes is linguini with white clam sauce, which she makes on Christmas Eve. The recipe was passed down from her father and is a family tradition. She also whips up a red sauce and enjoys the meals over the next few days. She chose eggnog for a holiday drink.
In terms of party fashion, comfort is as important as style. Carey called out her Gucci boots because they are “fashionable and don’t kill my feet.” She teamed them with a simple black Gucci dress, proving that a holiday look can be both elegant and comfortable.
The singer also shared that she is not one to host big holiday parties. She prefers parties where there is a host, rather than hosting them herself. Then she can sit back and enjoy the celebration.
When asked who she would invite to a holiday gathering among famous people, Carey chose Marilyn Monroe and Tupac. She also said her dogs would have their own seat at the table. Her answers showed her funny side and how much she adores her pets.
In response to a question about the best gifts she’s given and received, Carey gave a short answer: diamonds. She also recalled “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which she wrote expecting it to not be one of the world’s most enduring holiday songs. She still is proud of the song, and jokes that she has to defend her own Christmas music.

Carey’s campaign and personal stories provide fans with an insight into the traditions, food and fashion she enjoys each year with her family with the start of the holiday season.
