US and Iran in Talks: Trump Hopeful War Will End Soon

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has issued a peace plan to Iran. He said he hopes the conflict, which has been going on for about a month, will stop soon.

Iran also did something big. It added that oil ships that are “not hostile” can now go through the Strait of Hormuz. This is a very important marine route. It carries about one-fifth of the world’s oil. Iran had banned it after the US and Israel invaded the country.

Trump added that the US is “in talks right now” with Iran. He told reporters that Iran provided the US a “very big gift” that had to do with the strait. He stated this made him feel like they were “dealing with the right people.”

There are 15 points in the peace plan. The most important rule is that Iran can’t have a nuclear bomb. The plan also calls for a month-long break in fighting. During this time, both parties would talk about making a deal. Iran would stop creating more enriched uranium and give up what it already has. In exchange, all of Iran’s sanctions would be lifted. Iran would also seek support with its civil nuclear energy projects.

Pakistan said it will host the discussions. Trump alleged that Vice President JD Vance and other high-ranking US officials are engaged.

But there is still fighting going on. Iranian rockets targeted Israel, hurting more than a dozen people, one of them was a baby. Israel responded against Iran with a huge wave of airstrikes. Israel also declared it wants to take over southern Lebanon.

More than 1,000 people have died and more than a million have left their homes in Lebanon.

Reports say that the US is sending 3,000 troops to the Middle East, even as peace discussions are going on.

Brent crude oil prices went back above $100 a barrel, which is a small increase.
