Trump: Israel Accepts 60-Day Ceasefire in Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that Israel agreed to a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. He also urged Hamas to accept the deal before the situation becomes worse.

Trump is preparing to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, July 7. Their meeting will focus on helping both sides agree and discussing the release of hostages.

According to Trump, Qatar and Egypt will present the final version of the proposal. He hopes Hamas will accept it. If not, the violence in the region might get worse.

Netanyahu did not share full details about his visit to Washington, but mentioned it will include talks about trade and Iran.

Even though Trump is hopeful, Hamas still seems unsure about his offer, which he called the “best and final offer.”

Previous peace talks have failed before because both sides could not agree on how to end the war as part of a ceasefire.

Also, Israeli Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer met with U.S. officials in Washington to discuss a possible ceasefire, and issues involving Iran.

Meanwhile, over 150 international aid groups asked to stop the controversial aid delivery system in Gaza. They said the system is not working and violence is increasing.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned about missile attacks from Yemen, coming from Iran-backed Houthi rebels. This warning came after 12 days of fighting.

Katz said Yemen could face the same situation as Tehran. On the other hand, the Houthi group promised they will keep supporting Gaza until Israel ends its military actions.
