Following a series of cryptic posts by Andi Eigenmann, her fiancé and professional surfer, Philmar Alipayo, took to social media to address the breakup rumors. In a series of Instagram Stories, Philmar shared his thoughts in his native language.
“Whatever you read is true. No more hiding or lying because it only makes things harder,” he wrote. “You already know who I am, so maybe you already know who she is. There’s no need to elaborate further.”
Meanwhile, Andi Eigenmann also took to Instagram to clarify the situation. Reposting a screenshot, she expressed her surprise at the online speculation about Philmar’s alleged infidelity. She explained, “I realized my post may have been vague, so I’ll just share my first question to ChatGPT here for clarification.”
Philmar also acknowledged the criticisms from netizens, saying, “You can all call me a cheater and ugly now. But thank you to those who truly know me.”
In another Instagram Story, Andi revealed that a friend was behind her cryptic messages. She admitted that while she had noticed some red flags with this friend, she initially respected their long-standing relationship with Philmar. However, she eventually realized that setting boundaries in a relationship is not toxic.
The breakup rumors began when Andi shared a “Year of the Snake” wallpaper with the caption, “I just found out it’s the year of the snake!! I thought it was the year of the wolf in sheep’s clothing!” She also posted a screenshot of her online query about a friend wanting to get a couple’s tattoo with someone who was already in a relationship.
Netizens quickly connected the dots when Philmar showcased a new tattoo in his latest Instagram reel.
Andi and Philmar, who have been engaged since 2020, live together with their family on the picturesque island of Siargao.
Last year, Philmar was at the center of a viral video showing him spending time with another woman. At the time, Andi defended him, saying, “He can go out with his friends, have a drink now and then, and chat with whoever he wants. There’s no harm in that.”
Philmar also addressed the video during an appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda in June 2024. He explained that people often approach him for casual conversations. While he engages in these interactions, the professional surfer emphasized that he always maintains his boundaries and avoids situations that could be misinterpreted.
