SEVENTEEN unveils new sub-unit: S.Coups and Mingyu set to drop “Hype Vibes”

Remember the date, Carats! With members S.Coups and Mingyu, SEVENTEEN is launching a brand-new sub-unit. The 13-member group announced late Tuesday on its official social media accounts that the two will release their extended play (EP), “Hype Vibes,” on September 29 to mark their sub-unit debut.

In conjunction with the announcement, SEVENTEEN released a teaser video, purportedly shot in Los Angeles, that featured S.Coups and Mingyu touring the city and having a fun beach party. After Hoshi X Woozi, JxW (Jeonghan, Wonwoo), and BSS (DK, Seungkwan, Hoshi), this is the group’s newest subunit.

SEVENTEEN has established itself as one of K-pop’s most well-known acts since making their debut in 2015; in 2024, they were even the third-best-selling artist globally. The group, which currently has 11 active members while others serve in the military, will begin its “New_” world tour in Incheon on September 13 and 14.

Earlier this year, as part of their “Right Here” world tour, SEVENTEEN delighted Filipino fans with consecutive sold-out performances at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.
