The Salogon Bridge on Puerto Princesa South Road in Brooke’s Point, Palawan, is an important link for people who live there, businesses, and tourists. It used to be a two-lane bridge, but it was often crowded, took longer to cross, and was less safe, especially when more trucks were carrying goods.

The Salogon Bridge widening project is done now, thanks to the DPWH Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO). The goal of making connections between regions and the whole country better.

Palawan 2nd District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella told DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan in his report that the project included building a second, two-lane, 46.10-meter-long RCDG bridge next to the first one.
The upgrade also adds Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) on both sides of the bridge to make the transition smoother, slope protection to stop erosion, and drainage systems, guardrails, and features for pedestrians to make sure the bridge is safe and will last a long time.

There are now four lanes on the bridge instead of two. This makes traffic flow better and cuts the time it takes to get from Barangay Salogon to Barangay Malis from 30 minutes to just 20 minutes. Every day, about 480 drivers can use this. The project not only helps with traffic jams, but it also makes the roads safer, speeds up the delivery of goods and services, and helps the economy grow by making sure that the community has a more efficient and reliable transportation network.
