Police Seize P1M Worth of ‘Shabu’ and Illegal Firearm in Quezon Operations

LUCENA CITY — On Sunday, May 12, in Quezon province, three “high-value” targets and a street-level drug dealer were captured in two different buy-bust operations. As a result, an illegal firearm and over P1 million worth of “shabu,” or crystal meth, were confiscated, according to Colonel Ledon Monte, the chief of Quezon police.

When “Sharly” sold P3,000 worth of shabu to an undercover policeman at 11 p.m. in Sariaya town, anti-illegal drug agents detained her. in Barangay Sto. Clio. 130 grams of meth in two plastic sachets valued at P884,000 by the Dangerous Drugs Board were discovered to be in her possession by the authorities during the arrest.

Local police arrested “Christopher,” 35, at 11:18 a.m. at Barangay Malabanban Sur in the adjacent town of Candelaria. They confiscated P80,240 worth of shabu and an unregistered.357 revolver with four bullets.

A weighing scale and three sachets of shabu worth P108,000 were seized by another team of operatives in the same area at 7:46 a.m. “Rustie,” 24, and “Leonida,” 43, were also taken into custody.

Further investigations are underway to determine the source of these illegal drugs.

“Leonida” is classified as a street-level drug pusher, while “Christopher,” “Rustie,” and “Sharly” are recognized as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade. All of the suspects are presently in custody and are being prosecuted under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Christopher is also being prosecuted for unlawfully possessing a handgun.
