Manila, Philippines – September 23, 2025
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16 is heating up, with Aurora Gaming holding the top spot in the standings at the end of Week 5, while Onic PH sits close behind after a nail-biting victory against Team Liquid PH.
Aurora Gaming currently leads the league with a 7-1 record (14-7 game score, +7 differential), while Onic Philippines follows at 6-2 (14-6 game score, +8 differential). Despite Aurora’s narrow lead in the standings, Onic has been gaining momentum, winning four of their last five matches.
One of Week 5’s most talked-about highlights came when Onic PH pulled off a reverse sweep against Team Liquid PH, securing a 2-1 victory in what fans described as a “nail-biting three-round beatdown.” The win allowed Onic to climb to second place, overtaking Team Liquid, who now holds a 6-3 record and sits in third.

Head coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin credited the team’s resilience and lessons from past tournaments—particularly their tough loss in the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC)—as key factors in their performance.
Aurora Gaming, meanwhile, continues to prove its dominance. Earlier in the season, they defeated Onic PH with a 2-1 victory in Week 2, thanks to their drafting strategy and aggressive early-game playstyle. That head-to-head result still gives Aurora the upper hand as the league approaches the mid-season stretch.
Fans won’t have to wait long for the next chapter of this rivalry. Aurora Gaming is set to face Team Liquid PH on Friday, September 26, before a highly anticipated rematch against Onic PH on Saturday, September 27, a showdown that could reshape the top of the MPL PH standings.
