Sitio Mamara, located in Occidental Mindoro, is a small rural community surrounded by wide stretches of agricultural land.

The roads in Sitio Mamara have been completed by the Occidental Mindoro District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Everyone, especially farmers and schools, can travel to the area more easily and safely as a result.

When it rained, the unpaved road that ran alongside the fields turned muddy and slick, making it difficult to move people and goods and putting cars at risk for many years. Also to the students come to school with neat clothes, and after school, most of them come home with brown coloring clothes.
People can travel more freely and safely now that the road is paved, and farmers can easily transport their products to markets.

The completed infrastructure is 0.773 kilometers long and includes a 5-meter-wide carriageway with 1-meter-wide gravel shoulders on either side, according to a report submitted by Occidental Mindoro District Engineer Junie A. Lupango to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III. To make the road even stronger and more effective at draining water, reinforced concrete pipe culverts (RCPC) and stone masonry are used as cross drains.
One of the resident of Barangay Cabacao is NOEL COLOT, is extending his gratitude for the completeness of the road in their barangay.

“Kami ay nagpapasalamat sa DPWH na nabigyan kami ng kalsada na napakaganda.”
By facilitating market accessibility and cutting the travel time from Sitio Mamara to the national route from five to ten minutes to just one to two minutes, this project would immediately benefit the agricultural sector.
