From pursuing her dreams on an international K-pop stage to entering one of the Philippines’ most recognizable reality television houses, Gehlee Dangca is proving that an artist’s journey can take many unexpected turns. The Filipina performer, who first gained international recognition through the South Korean survival program Universe Ticket, is entering a new chapter in her career—one that allows audiences to discover more than just her talent as a singer and performer.
At a time when Filipino artists are gaining greater visibility in the global entertainment industry, Gehlee’s story reflects ambition, resilience, and the courage to embrace new opportunities.
From Universe Ticket to the Global K-Pop Stage
Gehlee first caught the attention of international audiences through Universe Ticket, the survival competition that brought together aspiring performers hoping to debut in a new K-pop girl group.

Her individuality, stage presence, and growing confidence helped her establish a strong following throughout the competition. She eventually secured a place in the final lineup, becoming one of the eight members of UNIS.
The group officially debuted on March 27, 2024, with its first extended play, We UNIS. Alongside fellow Filipina member Elisia Parmisano and Filipino-Korean member Hyeonju, Gehlee became part of a group that represented different nationalities and backgrounds.
Her experience in South Korea introduced her to the demanding world of professional idol training, which involved intensive rehearsals, music production, performances, and international fan engagements.
A New Chapter: From Group Activities to a Solo Career
After more than two years in South Korea, Gehlee returned to the Philippines in September 2026 to pursue opportunities closer to home while continuing to explore the international entertainment industry.
UNIS officially concluded its group activities on September 26, 2026. For Gehlee, the transition marked an opportunity to establish her individual identity as an artist.
On October 23, she released her debut solo single, “Closer,” under Universal Records Philippines. The track marked an important milestone as she began exploring her musical direction beyond group performances.
In an interview with GMA, Gehlee also reflected on the challenges of being a K-pop idol. She admitted that there were moments when she considered giving up, but the encouragement of her supporters motivated her to keep going. Among the lessons she carried forward were discipline, perseverance, and the importance of continuous growth.
Entering Bahay ni Kuya: A Different Kind of Spotlight
Another significant development came on October 24, 2026, when Gehlee entered Pinoy Big Brother: Collab Edition 3.0 as one of its 16 housemates.
Introduced as the “Darling K-pop Idol ng Las Piñas,” she joined personalities from different backgrounds in the reality television competition. Her participation gives viewers an opportunity to discover her personality outside the carefully rehearsed performances and glamorous environment of the K-pop industry.

Her former UNIS bandmate Elisia Parmisano also expressed support for her new adventure, showing that the connection formed during their international music journey continues beyond their group’s activities.
More Than an Idol: An Inspiration for Young Filipinos
Gehlee Dangca’s journey represents more than an international entertainment breakthrough. It highlights the possibilities that emerge when young Filipino talents pursue opportunities beyond familiar boundaries.
From competing in a Korean survival program to performing on international stages, releasing her own music, and entering Philippine reality television, she continues to explore different dimensions of her career.
Her story also reminds aspiring artists that success does not always follow a straight path. There are transitions, uncertainties, and moments when starting again becomes necessary.
As audiences follow her journey inside Bahay ni Kuya and discover her music as a solo artist, one thing remains clear: Gehlee is no longer simply the young contestant who dreamed of becoming a K-pop idol. She is an evolving Filipino artist building her own identity, one opportunity at a time.
And perhaps her most exciting chapter is still ahead.
