RIZAL, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO — Motorists and residents of Barangay Manoot now enjoy safer and more stable travel following the completion of a road slope protection project implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Mindoro Occidental District Engineering Office (DEO).
The infrastructure upgrade aims to strengthen the stability of the road pavement along key sections of the barangay, reducing the risks of erosion and road collapse, especially during heavy rainfall. With the newly completed slope structure, drivers can traverse the area with improved safety and smoother mobility.

Before the project’s completion, residents recalled the difficulties they faced whenever it rained heavily.
Now, with the improved road and new concrete pavement, travel has become much easier and safer.

Residents also expressed their appreciation to the DPWH, noting that without the agency’s initiative, the road problem would have remained unresolved and continued to cause inconvenience in their daily lives.

According to DPWH officials, the project underscores the department’s commitment to providing reliable and resilient infrastructure that supports both local transportation and economic activities. The improved road is expected to enhance access to essential services, trade routes, and nearby communities.
The DPWH continues to implement similar road safety and infrastructure improvement projects across Occidental Mindoro to ensure safer and more efficient travel for all road users.
