The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary, Manuel Bonoan, explained that there is no “ghost” flood control project in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, as reported. He claims that although the project in question is legitimate, the misunderstanding may have arisen from a misunderstanding or a failure to communicate its precise location.
Bonoan emphasized that government infrastructure projects are subject to strict planning and oversight, especially those related to flood control. Inaccurate information should not be taken as proof of irregularities, he added, assuring the public that the DPWH maintains accountability and transparency in its operations.

The organization is committed to addressing these issues and providing accurate information about ongoing and completed projects in the province because, the secretary continued, allegations of “ghost projects” have the potential to erode public trust.
