Famous British singer-songwriter Calum Scott brought unexpected joy to his Filipino admirers as he spontaneously took the stage in a public mall, armed with a karaoke machine. The former “Britain’s Got Talent” contestant surprised the crowd at a Taguig City mall with a full karaoke setup, treating them to a heartfelt rendition of his chart-topping song “You Are The Reason.”
In a heartening twist during the chorus, Calum graciously handed the microphone to the surrounding fans, creating a collaborative and interactive atmosphere. Alongside local folk-pop duo Ben&Ben, Calum is set to be a special guest at Ed Sheeran’s upcoming performance at SMDC Festival Grounds on March 9. Adding a touch of humor, the singer playfully altered the lyrics to “You are my reason.”
This return to the Philippines marks Calum’s comeback four years after his initial performance in Manila and follows his 2022 visit as part of the “Bridges” Asia tour. Interestingly, Ed Sheeran will also be making his third live appearance in the Philippines, with previous shows in 2015 and 2018.
