ROMBLON PROVINCE – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Romblon District Engineering Office has successfully completed several school building projects in the municipalities of Looc and Romblon, addressing the persistent shortage of classrooms and strengthening the overall learning environment for students and teachers.

District Engineer Elena M. Castilan reported to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III that the completed facilities include a one-storey, two-classroom building at Limon Norte National High School in Looc, a one-storey, two-classroom building at Lonos Elementary School in Romblon, and a two-storey, six-classroom building along with a one-storey, three-classroom building at Agnipa High School in Romblon.

These projects were undertaken to address to the province’s growing student population and the lack of adequate school facilities that have long affected the quality of education. With the new classrooms now in place, students and teachers in Looc and Romblon have access to modern, spacious, and well-equipped learning spaces that foster effective teaching and provide a more comfortable and conducive atmosphere for education.

DPWH emphasized that continued investment in educational infrastructure across MIMAROPA remains significant in improving the quality of learning and ensuring long-term community development. The completion of the school buildings in Romblon is a clear shows the government’s dedication to providing best opportunities for students by strengthening the foundation of education through improved facilities.
