Atty. Claire Castro, Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office, emphasized that President Marcos is taking the threat of El Niño seriously, and the El Niño Task Force is continuously coordinating preventive actions.

Castro advised utilizing buckets to collect rainwater, as this practical measure can help households be prepared for possible water shortages. She also mentioned that Secretary of Social Welfare and Development Rex Gatchalian will produce an instructional video demonstrating how to filter and utilize collected rainwater effectively.

Public cooperation in heeding the government's preparations and being open to practical solutions was encouraged by Castro. Meanwhile, Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian supported the President's advice earlier this week, calling it both reasonable and practical amid concerns regarding an anticipated Super El Niño event.
