Globe Telecom has announced that it has generated P1.2 billion from its use of artificial intelligence (AI), which includes increased revenue, cost savings, and improved productivity. The company is focusing on the actual benefits of technology in its operations.
According to preliminary assessments, Globe reported a return of 2.8 times its investment in AI from projects utilizing generative AI (GenAI) and AI and machine learning (AI/ML) as of August 2026.
Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz stated, "The real measure of AI is not how many people are using it, but what it actually improves. We want to see it translate into better experiences for our customers, more intelligent ways of working for our people, and tangible results for the business."
The largest portion of Globe's gains has come from using AI in commercial activities and customer service, contributing over P825 million in additional income. This includes tailoring offers and services in Globe Rewards, roaming, lending, and postpaid.
Furthermore, the company saved P368 million through the application of AI in finance, customer engagement, marketing technology, and order management. Globe has integrated technology into existing processes to address operational challenges and enhance efficiency.
AI has also significantly boosted productivity and automation, achieving over 52,000 hours of work saved, amounting to P28 million in time savings. This has enabled employees to focus on more analytical and collaborative tasks, reducing the time spent on repetitive duties.
As of August 2026, AI utilization across Globe's organization reached 90%, and over 450 employees are part of the company's AI builder community, expanding the number of teams developing AI solutions for various corporate needs. The company aims to strengthen its measurement of the benefits of technology and accountability for its investments in AI, thereby enhancing its business outcomes.
