Manila, Philippines – September 2025
Filipino P-pop girl group G22, also known as “P-pop’s Female Alphas,” has made 2025 one of their most successful years yet, thanks to chart-worthy releases, powerful performances, and international exposure. Composed of AJ, Alfea, and Jaz, the trio continues to cement their status as one of the strongest female acts in the P-pop scene, blending talent, empowerment, and global appeal.
Bold Hits
The year began with the release of “Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban” on March 6, 2025, a high-energy track that championed feminist themes and unapologetic confidence. The song earned praise from fans and critics alike, with ABS-CBN Metro.Style spotlighting the group for their bold and refreshing sound.

This momentum was followed by the May 29 release of “Filipina Queen,” a fierce anthem celebrating identity and strength. Its teaser, highlighted by choreography and the phrase “ALPHA FILIPINA,” reinforced the group’s image as trailblazers for women in P-pop.
Global Stages
Beyond their music, G22 has been everywhere in 2025. The group performed at the Asia Pacific Predator League in Malaysia last January, marking their first major international stage of the year. Their global reach was further elevated when they opened the Volleyball Men’s World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena on September 12, a moment that showcased P-pop to a wider audience. Just a week later, they shared the spotlight at the Billboard Philippines P-pop Rising Party alongside big names like SB19 and KAIA.

Their presence was equally strong in local events. From delivering a powerful performance at the New Hue Video Music Awards in Taguig City to sharing the historic Philippine Arena stage at the Puregold OPM Con with BINI and KAIA, G22 has proven their ability to captivate audiences of all sizes. They also graced Acer Day 2025, where they reflected on their journey as artists navigating a competitive industry, and wowed fans with a special stage on It’s Showtime, one of the country’s most beloved variety shows.
Rising Recognition
With such visibility, recognition has followed. Billboard Philippines named them part of its P-pop Rising Class of 2025, a nod to the group’s influence and continued growth.

Their impact has also drawn the attention of major brands, leading to endorsement deals, including an ongoing partnership with Acer. Despite their success, the members remain grounded, often expressing admiration for fellow P-pop groups like BINI, emphasizing the sense of unity fueling the genre’s rapid rise.
The Alphas
Each member of G22 brings a unique background and artistry to the group:
- AJ (Angel Jermae Bantiling Yape) – Leader, main rapper, and vocalist. A former The Voice Teens contestant and solo artist, AJ’s sharp lyricism and stage presence define much of G22’s sound.
- Alfea (Alfea Marie Gonzalez Zulueta) – Lead vocalist and lead dancer. With her Filipino-Spanish heritage and extensive training, she brings precision and charisma to every stage.
- Jaz (Jasmine Therese Montemayor Henry) – Main vocalist. A Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter who moved to Manila in 2018, she adds powerhouse vocals and international flair.

The group also honors Bianca Paula Vargas Forro, their former main dancer, who departed in September 2023 for personal reasons but remains with Cornerstone Entertainment.
Leading the Future

From feminist anthems like “Filipina Queen” to electrifying stages across Asia, G22 has lived up to their name as “P-pop’s Female Alphas” in 2025. With their bold artistry, growing influence, and unshakable bond as a group, AJ, Alfea, and Jaz are proving they are not just rising stars—they are leading the charge for the future of P-pop.
