During a press briefing at Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, Gatchalian conducted a demonstration using the water filtration kit. He added a bag of soil to the water to showcase the effectiveness of the filtration system. After the filtration process, the water was deemed safe for consumption.

Both Gatchalian and Palace Press Officer Attorney Claire Castro tasted the filtered water, allowing media members also to try it afterward.

Gatchalian announced that the water kits will be distributed to areas declared in a state of calamity to ensure residents have access to clean drinking water. The filtration kits are designed to last up to five years if maintained properly.

The DSWD plans to start delivering buckets and installing the water filtration systems in homes next week. Gatchalian noted that the installation is straightforward and requires no chemicals, machinery, or electricity for operation. He assured the public that the filtered water is safe for everyone, including infants.
