Marcos Investigates Return of “tanim-bala” (bullet-planting) at NAIA

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered a thorough investigation into the reported return of the tanim-bala (bullet-planting) scam at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said that the President wants to prevent such incidents from happening again. That’s why he has directed an investigation with the help of DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon.

Castro stated, “Yes, it’s not good if this happens again. So, the President has ordered an investigation. If this is proven true, those responsible should be removed from their jobs.”

The President will not allow such activities to continue if there is evidence, as it harms Filipinos and tourists who fall victim to this scam at airports.

Castro added that those responsible will be held accountable once the investigation is completed.

For now, the President has not made any conclusions about the incident because the investigation is still ongoing.

A video of a senior citizen passenger accused of carrying a bullet in their bag went viral on social media. The passenger and their companions were deeply distressed by the accusation.
