The seven-year relationship between actress Barbie Forteza and actor Jak Roberto has ended, according to Forteza. On Thursday, Forteza announced the news and pictures from their time together on Instagram. She added a heartfelt caption that featured a Dr. Seuss quote: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
“Having you in my life made me the happiest I’ve ever been. Seven amazing years filled with laughter, ramen, and so much love. Your love was truly special. But sometimes, good things fall apart to make way for better things,” Forteza wrote.
She expressed gratitude and respect for Roberto, saying, “Beautiful goodbye, @jakroberto. Thank you for loving me the way you did. I look forward to what’s ahead for both of us. Take care of yourself and may you find the love you deserve.”
Forteza did not share details about the breakup but asked fans for privacy. “I hope everyone understands and helps us move on from this matter,” she added.
Barbie Forteza, 27, and Jak Roberto, 31, started dating in 2017. They first worked together on the movie Laut (2016), where they played members of a Sama Dilaut community. Their relationship began while filming the TV series Meant to Be in 2017. They also co-starred in the drama-fantasy series Kara Mia in 2019.
Jak Roberto’s latest project was the series Black Rider, which ended in July 2024. Barbie Forteza is currently starring in Pulang Araw alongside her onscreen partner David Licauco.
