Police officers in Eastern Visayas joined in the first batch of a journalism and social media workshop at the DILG building in Ormoc City on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas (PRO-8) director, Brigadier General Reynaldo Pawid, through Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Major Analiza Armeza, initiated the activity to capacitate information officers in the region on basic news writing skills, media relations, and social media management.
The event was also attended by Colonel Reydante Ariza, OIC city director of Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO); Lieutenant Colonel Albert Renomeron, chief of Community Affairs Development Unit (CADU), OCPO; and Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Cañamaque, chief of CADU, Tacloban City Police Office.
Dr. Ulderico Alviola, head of the Department of Development Communication and the University Integrated Media Center at the Visayas State University in Baybay City, and journalist Ronald Reyes facilitated the workshop.
