In a thrilling UEFA Champions League game, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat Barcelona 4-2, ending Hansi Flick’s team’s perfect start to the season. Both teams went for it from the off creating a lot of chances and scoring six goals in a thriller at the Parc des Princes.
Both European giants looked to attack rather than just defend with the match seeing 40 attempts on goal. Eventually PSG proved stronger and scored two late goals in the game to take an important win.
PSG Leading
PSG had a bright start and came close to scoring in the opening two minutes when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck the post. But the French side suffered an early blow when Ousmane Dembele left the field with a suspected hamstring injury.

The home team got on the scoresheet in the 38th minute. Barcelona made a mistake and PSG scored, Desire Doue giving PSG a 1-0 lead before halftime.
Barcelona fought back. Young defender Xavi Espart equalized in the 55th minute to get his team back in the contest.
However, PSG had another problem as Kvaratskhelia had to be taken off the pitch after sustaining injury.
Teams Battle for Control
PSG went back in front in the 72nd minute with a Lucas Hernandez header from a set piece. Barcelona did not want to give up and Lamine Yamal scored the equalizer again in the 79th minute with a good finish from a narrow angle.
The score was tied, 2-2, and the game threatened to produce another dramatic moment. PSG were back in front two minutes later when Vitinha slotted in from the edge of the penalty box.
As the game entered its final moments, Barcelona struggled to match the pace and pressure of PSG.
Late Goals Win PSG Late Goals Win PSG
Fabian Ruiz scored from close range in the 86th minute to earn PSG the win. His goal made it 4-2 and dashed any hopes of a further Barcelona comeback.
The result ended Barcelona’s unbeaten start to the season after 12 matches. The Spanish side displayed attacking quality and created a number of chances against the reigning European champions, despite the loss.
Barcelona face another big test as they prepare for their first El Clasico of the season against Real Madrid on Sunday. The game could be made even harder by injury problems.
The win was a sign of PSG’s ability to handle pressure and maintain their attacking game versus a top European side. Their players kept on going even after Barcelona leveled twice.
The match was also a warning against attacking football. Both sides had plenty of chances but PSG were more clinical in the end.
PSG would go on to claim a memorable 4-2 victory, and Barcelona will have to learn from their mistakes and get ready for their next big game.
