>In a significant crackdown on human trafficking linked to illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), a Chinese national identified as Huang Mingmin was arrested by elements from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Parañaque City. The arrest took place on a Friday at the K1 Center Building in Barangay Tambo, where Mingmin had reportedly established a foothold in the local business landscape.

>The PAOCC highlighted that Huang Mingmin, who also goes by aliases such as Yang Bin, Sy Wang, and A Bao, is wanted in connection with various human trafficking activities associated with POGO operations. Authorities have linked Mingmin’s operations to multiple illegal POGO hubs, including Baofu Hub in Bamban, Tarlac, and Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.

>Investigation reports indicate that Mingmin not only engaged in human trafficking but also invested in local real estate and businesses, acquiring properties and fishing vessels on Jomalig Island in Quezon province. He is believed to own and operate facilities such as Mother’s Wonderland and Sea Horizon Resort, further embedding him within the local community.

>Authorities are now scrutinizing Mingmin's activities more closely, particularly his connections with other individuals operating within the illegal POGO network. Preliminary investigations suggest he may play a pivotal role in coordinating illegal operations across various establishments.

>Mingmin is reportedly listed as a principal in control of premises that were subjected to Search Warrant 41M-M-2024, issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 81, Bulacan. This warrant is in connection with serious allegations of illegal detention and violations of the anti-human trafficking legislation.

>Moreover, under the alias A Bao, he has pending arrest warrants tied to the operations in Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corp. in Porac, with charges relating to high-profile human trafficking cases currently before the Regional Trial Court in Pasig City.

>After the arrest, Mingmin was taken to CIDG-NCR for processing, with the PAOCC reaffirming its commitment to intensifying efforts against organized crime and human trafficking in the Philippines. Undersecretary Benjamin Acorda Jr., PAOCC's executive director, emphasized the agency’s resolve to disrupt such illicit activities formed under the guise of business.

>Meanwhile, former PAOCC spokesman Winston Casio indicated that POGOs have not been entirely eradicated from the country but are adapting by executing guerrilla-style operations, highlighting the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in combating these networks.

>Community members, including former landowners near Lucky South 99, have raised concerns about the condition of the area, requesting government intervention to prevent potential fires due to overgrown vegetation surrounding the premises now under the monitoring of the Anti-Money Laundering Council.

>Arrest warrants for other key individuals tied to the Porac POGO operations, such as Cassandra Li Ong and Ronelyn Baterna, remain outstanding, leading many to question the effectiveness of law enforcement in managing these networks. These two individuals have been evading capture since last year, with INTERPOL issuing red notices against them, underscoring the serious ramifications of these criminal enterprises on the wider community.
